A Healthy Lifestyle – What it means for your sex life.

Many men don’t realize the full impact that their lifestyle choices may have on their sexual function. Sexual performance works in combination with many of your bodies many working systems – these include cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, and reproductive systems. These systems must be working at full capacity for you to truly enjoy optimal sexual performance.

Things like drinking alcohol, smoking, caffeine, and recreational drugs all have an effect on your overall health, and this means that they also have a direct impact on your sexual health and performance. Cutting out (or moderating) your intake of any of these substances can have a dramatic impact on your erectile function, sexual stamina, and your libido.

All off these lifestyle choices are directly related to your sexual function. If you take care of yourself, you will have great erections, a great sex drive, and a very healthy, happy, successful sex life. If on the other hand you’re abusive, you do drugs, you smoke, you drink, you eat too much, those things will all come back to haunt you and will impact probably not only on your lifespan, your quality of life, but on your sexual life.

An interesting thing about weight gain that most people don’t understand is that as men gain weight primarily in their gut, the fat cells in their gut convert the testosterone to estrogen. The estrogen is a fat-storing hormone, so they end up building in more fat, that ends up with more estrogen. So you really aren’t dropping the testosterone as you’re altering the balance. So it’s important that men are aware of that and do whatever they can to prevent that extra weight because it has impact on every aspect of their life.

Exercise can help you feel more confident and energized both in and out of the bedroom, which can improve sex. When you feel good about yourself, and about how your partner sees you physically, you’re going to be more relaxed and less distracted.

To help reduce the chances of both erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation, try to get exercise 3-4 times a week – even if it’s as simple as a 30-minute walk. A healthy body is the first step toward a healthy sex life. Don’t underestimate the importance of exercise for good sexual health.
